Last week our school received an email from the Consulate General of India in Munich. Our long lasting exchange project of Johannes-Turmair-Gymnasium Straubing (Germany) and Lotus Valley International School (India) aroused the interest of the members of the representatives of India.

Therefore the Consul General proposed to visit the Johannes-Turmair-Gymnasium to talk to the German participants of the exchange.  The planning of the event is underway and the whole “school family” is looking forward to meeting and welcoming the Consul General.

Here is an excerpt of the original email:

Dear Sir/Madam,

1. The Consulate General of India recognizes that ‘Student Exchange Programme’ is one of the best ways for connecting young students to the experience of international education of another partner country without spending a lot of time away from their respective native places.  These programmes not only provide young minds from participating countries a platform to develop their life skills and understand the world better but also allow them to understand and embrace the diversity across the world. Students learn how to co-exist and feel compassion for the perspectives of foreign communities. They also re-explore their individuality and learn the art of decision-making.

2. We appreciate the ongoing ‘Student Exchange Programme’ between Johannes-Turmair Gymnasium, Straubing (Germany) and Lotus Valley International School, Noida (India) under which a group of young students from Germany visited the Indian school in May, 2017.  With a view to further strengthening the existing bond between the two schools, Consul General of India proposes to visit the school and meet the students of the exchange programme with India […]

Regards,

Sushovan Sengupta Consul (CPV) Consulate General of India
