Days 1 and 2 – Bhavya’s short summary

{<[The German Exchange}>]

The Exchange is a great opportunity for one to learn new things..It helps us to get to know about another country’s culture, tradition, people, language etc.I too got one such privileged experience to go to the German Exchange .
I was very excited and here is a bit about how I spent my first three days in DEUTSCHLAND..????

Am Ersten Tag
On the first day when we arrived at Munich Airport,we met Mr Poeschl and together we went in a bus to Straubing  to meet our partners. After that after one and a half hour we got down from the bus?? and were awestruck on seeing such welcoming and nice hosts..??
All students had huge posters and placards displaying our names and messages for us.That was great!!!Then I met my amazing partner Stephan and his family..??They were really welcoming and the good was yet to come !!!!?
From there we went to his Grandma’s house and met her..We took a vintage car that was nearly 50 yrs old ! and then we went in that car to our House in Haibach. There I ate Pretzel(Staple food of Germany) and as I was very tired I went to Bed….??????

Am Zweiten Tag
The second day was an interesting one!!We got up at seven and ate breakfast – Cake ..??After that we went to a Church and prayed for our well being and a great German exchange experience…??
Then we I went to see the football match at Allianz Arena⚽⚽  btw. Bochum City V/s. Bayern Münich 1860⚽⚽ ….The heated match had a lot of fans who were chearing for their teams and we saw a great match which was followed by Bochum City as emerging victorious after a great game…..I enjoyed it!!,???
Then we came back home to get ready for the the BIG DAY tomorrow ∼ The School Day??????? …

  1. A comment sent by E-Mail:

Amazing… A small experience to share; whenever Bhavya used to have milk, He used to ask for extra Bournvita OR chocolate syrup to be added in the milk for which I used to refuse. But he used to visit the kitchen silently & skipping my sight & pour in more into his glass of milk. I am happy to find now that he is enjoying his milk without any flavor OR extra sugar… & telling me all this very happily. In fact, he called & told me that now he can have milk without any flavor as well. And… not to miss that he enjoying green vegetables there in Germany, which he never used to touch here happily & we always had to force him for the green vegetables.

Thanks to Stephan & his family… as Bhavya will come back with such more good habits & memories.

    Lots of love…

    Sangeeta

  2. how was your experience? hope you enjoyed a lot….even i’m willing to go for the GERMAN EXCHANGE

    1. Our experience? We loved the first days. And the others were as good as the first! But the first week is always exciting, because we don’t know each other yet and everything is new.

  3. if in future i want to take part in the program what should i know before taking part

    1. First you should be open minded. Cultures can be different. But different doesn’t mean better or worse. The way people interact or life has evolved over centuries and often it has a reason why the behavior is different to your home contry.
The second thing is, that you schould be interested in exploring things. When I am in India I don’t visit shopping malls. We have them in Germany, too. I want to get to know the differences and thats why I enjoy Indian food instead of McD or I visit temples instead of staying in my room. If you are not willing to try something new (new food, new cloths, new customs, …) the exchange won’t be a lot of fun. Then it is better to visit Germany as a tourist.
Third: Learn something about the country you want to visit. You’ll see some details only, when you know about them. Otherwise you just walk by and miss a lot of interesting stories. But taking part in the German class is a good start to learn a lot about Germany.

  4. seeing this,i am also fascinated and very curious to go on the exchange.i would also want to see the football match in germany live.i would also go on the exchange and see their cultures.

    1. Curiousity is very important! But you know, Germany is not only football. We do different activities, too. You can read about them in the blog (hiking, rock climbing, rowing, ….)

  5. I’d love ? to go to Germany and experience the various places, culture, foods, etc. It would be a dream come true. Just by listening to ur comments i feel so nice about Deutschland!! ??
